Raw Materials
As part of our most basic philosophy, our products are chemical, dye, clay, fragrance and cruelty-free. Our formulas are developed to ensure you have the most luxurious experience, without all the other "stuff". And while chemical stabilizers remove the need to shake a mist before use, or allow it to 'keep' a year long, we feel the tradeoff is worth it. Our products require a 'shake' and are shelf-stable for 6 months, but we think that's a fair tradeoff for losing all the unnatural additives. While not required, we do disclose all ingredients (including which essential oils are used in our unique blends) on our labels because we believe in full transparency.
Packaging Materials
Our products are minimally packaged - meaning, while other companies may place jars or bottles within boxes (and more internal packaging) for selling purposes, we think of that as unnecessary 'vanity packaging'. While other shower steamers on the market are individually wrapped in plastic, we carefully curated our packaging to eliminate the need for individual wraps and excess waste.
Our product vessels and labels are carefully chosen for their simple beauty, practicality and eco-sense. We've chosen sustainable bamboo lids for our jars, versus traditional plastic or metal. Our labels are easy-peel, so glass bottles and jars can be re-used.
Refills for your faves can be purchased in compostable sleeves for reuse of your glass vessels. Labels on our refills are made from biostone, and are completely home compostable, as well. We've minimized the use of plastics to less than 5% of our overall packaging materials.
Shipping Materials
Our shipping boxes are home compostable and made from XX% of post-consumer paper products; their decorative artwork is printed with vegetable-based inks. Our shipping labels and their adhesive are 100% home compostable, and are created with direct thermal printers. Our adhesive tapes are also home compostable, inclusive of their inks and adhesive.
Our products are cushioned with corrugated cardboard sleeves, in addition to honeycomb and recyclable unbleached paper (XX% reused). We additionally offer order pick-up options locally in the DMV to reduce air and road travel environmental impacts.
